Barbicide is a disinfectant solution used by barbers and cosmetologists for disinfecting grooming tools such as combs and hair-cutting shears. Manufactured by King Research, it was invented in 1947 by Maurice King and marketed heavily around the United States by his brother James.

A barber has to sanitize and disinfect his haircut tools every time, in between every customer. You want everything you use on your client to be clean, with no exceptions. It's also the law!

Brushes with long bristles need to have the hair and debris cleaned from them with cleaning brushes and a cleansing cream to disinfect. Store in a dry sanitation container until the next use. Combs can be used in liquid sanitizer and should be inserted after every use.

70% Isopropyl Alcohol (Quick clean): Here, pour a little alcohol into a bowl or tray, turn on the clipper and put the tip of the blades into the tray of alcohol. This disinfects the clippers and gets rid of hair residue between the teeth of the blades.
